Rare and hard to find vintage Sony PSE-4000R AC servo motor direct drive turntable, comes with original heavy duty original Sony turntable plinth and Audiocraft AC-400C one point support oil damped long tonearm.
Sony PSE-4000R turntable system:
A premium armless player system with a cabinet equipped to the TTS-4000.
AC servo motor is used for the drive unit.
This motor uses the principle of eddy current (overcurrent), and in principle does not generate discontinuous torque, realizing smooth rotation. In addition, vibration is reduced due to the ultra-low speed.
It is equipped with a servo amplifier to achieve smoother rotation.
The servo circuit uses a specially developed IC, and the rotation state is constantly fed back by a frequency generator (FG) directly connected to both the motor and the turntable, controlling it to maintain the specified rotation speed.
The turntable is a 32 cm aluminum alloy casting weighing 1.75 kg.
The outer circumference is engraved with an accurate strobe, and the correct rotation speed can be checked by a large neon tube.
Since a servo motor is used, the speed switching and speed adjustment are electronic.
