The SPU Classic was reintroduced in 1987~2006. The model of 1987 was incrementally improved since its inception in 1959, as new materials, manufacturing techniques and processing technologies were developed, though 18um Nude spherical stylus and Aluminium-Magnesium alloy housing remained untouched.
